News isn't news anymore

Our television news and commercials have totally changed over the past few years. Local news is not local news anymore since we are now hearing about what the celebrities are doing out in California rather that what is going on in our own backyards.

Also, now commercials are featuring good looking celebrities and professional athletes to sell and rave about their products. For example:  Burger King is now featuring David Beckham to promote their new smoothies.


Another example is Subway promoting their healthy food items to customers since our country is now focusing on the demographical issue of obesity. They promote their new egg white breakfast sandwiches that are on wheat english muffins and their fresh fruit parfaits. In addition, they are now using the athlete Michael Phelps to sell their footlong subway sandwiches as a good source of meat, vegetables, and whole grains.
